Dear Business Owner,

 

I know you get a lot of letters from organizations and clubs asking for financial support. And I won’t kid you: this is one of them. But first let me tell you a little about the Brookfield High School & Club Lacrosse programs. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. If you’ve been to a game, you can see why: it’s fast-paced and exciting. Since beginning the lacrosse program in Brookfield just a short time ago, the club has grown exponentially. That’s the good news. The bad news is that such growth means we need more of everything, including equipment, indoor field time, and training for the volunteer coaching staff. We’re not looking for frills; we’re striving to cover the basics, including goalie equipment, portable practice walls, and goal cages to name only a few.

 

To raise money, we’re hosting what promises to be a fun-filled event: a dinner featuring stand-up comedy to be held on May 15^th at the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury. We’re asking local business to contribute whatever they can—gift certificates, merchandise, or services—to a silent auction and raffle to be held that evening. In recognition of your donation, and with your permission, we will advertise your generosity at the function, in a letter to more than 300 loyal Brookfield lacrosse members, and on a rotating banner ad on our website, www.brookfieldlax.org.
