North County Summer Lacrosse Camp at BHS
by posted 06/07/2009

Don't miss the 2009 North County Summer Lacrosse Camp at Brookfield High School. July 6-9. Download the information by Clicking HERE.

With a mix of drills, controlled scrimmaging and games, players receive top instruction in a fun environment. Our camps were developed to provide young athletes an opportunity to become better players by learning from the best area coaches and players. Instruction will concentrate on basics along with new advanced techniques to take their game to the next level. This will be a skills camp stressing and refining critical mechanics that are important at any level. A typical day includes: shooting, dodging, transition play, agility, carrying-feeding, wall-ball, proper defensive
technique, and ground ball drills. Our goal at NCS is to keep you improving, no matter what your ability level, through great coaching and healthy competition. We focus on giving each camper individual attention while building confidence and ensuring a positive lacrosse experience...

A letter from Mitch Belisle at Trilogy Lacrosse
by posted 05/29/2009

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for having me out to work with the boys.  I had a great time and was impressed by the way they were able to apply the fundamentals of one on one defense and how much some of the players' shooting improved in just a few hours.  I hope the players were able to see the passion for the game that all Trilogy staff exhibit and the level of instruction we are dedicated to providing.

Since you had me out to work with your players, Trilogy is happy to offer $100 off the registration fee for any player who would like to come out our specialty overnight camp at the Millbrook School in NY from July 20 - 24th.  Ryan Boyle, Matt Striebel and I will all be at the camp and it should be a great 4 days full of lacrosse instruction and learning.  More details about the camp, cost and registration can be found at www.trilogylacrosse.com.  To receive the discount, players can type in the promotional code "brookfieldspecialty" when registering online, or write it on the attached registration form.  The discount code will be active until next Friday, June 5th, so if you could let the players and the parents know about it as soon as possible that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for having me out to practice.  Hopefully we will see some Bobcats in a few weeks at Millbrook!

Sincerely,
Mitch Belisle

A great lax article...
by posted 03/18/2009

All,

The following appeared in the March 18th issue of The New Yorker and I must say it is really good. If you know nothing about the sport your son or daughter is playing you will find it very informative (unfortunately for you fans of the girls game it is mostly on the boys game) and for those that know the sport well you will be equally informed and entertained. I strongly encourage you to print it out and give it a read and then pass it on to your son or daughter for them to read. It is probably the best "general" article I have seen on the sport that covers some history, the specifics, the strategy, the similarities to other sports and where the sport is going (world wide).
